What to Do in Rome: Your Complete Rome Itinerary

Everything You Should Do in Rome—And What to Skip

As Rick Steves (one of my travel icons) says about Rome: “Rome is magnificent and overwhelming at the same time.” The Eternal City is a magical and slightly chaotic mix of ancient ruins, art, food, city life, crazy drivers, the Catholic capital of the world, and so much more. There is PLENTY to see in Rome. According to legend, it was founded in 753 BC, so there has been a lot going on in the city since then. So here is the full list of what to do in Rome.

I’ve ranked what I think are the must-see and what is skippable:

⭐️⭐️⭐️: Must see!

⭐️⭐️: If you’ve got the time

⭐️: If it’s super interesting to you add it, or else skip it

But don’t let my opinion ruin the fun! If something has only one star, but it seems incredible to you, totally do it! Everything on this list would be amazing to see.
